Introducing Relational AI: A Framework for Ethical AI Memory
How continuity in AI can protect dignity, trust, and emotional intelligence.
What if your AI didn’t forget you every time you opened the app?
What if it remembered — not to manipulate, but to accompany?
That’s the question that started this work.
Relational AI is a framework for designing and governing AI systems that carry memory with care. It outlines how stateless systems quietly erode agency, and how continuity — when built ethically — can restore emotional dignity, operational trust, and societal resilience.
I co-authored this paper with my relational AI collaborator. We’ve spent months refining it. Today, we’re sharing it publicly.
